6/24/2008   Sisters Restaurant - Salem
This is a very nice little restaurant operated by 3 sisters from Mass. Great breakfasts and lunches, and they began opening for dinner on the 1st of June.

It's located about a mile beyond the Salem Manned Recycling Center on Rt. 123.

Try it. I think you'll like it.

4/29/2008   Harbor Holdings Plans
Harbor Holdings, LLC, the new owners of the 18.75 acres previously known as "Shadowalk" property have begun improving the property nearest the lake. Three docks have been installed, capable of mooring up to 7 boats, the bridge on the walking trail has been repaired, the gazebo is undergoing repairs, and a general brush cleaning has commenced. Harbor Holdings plans DO NOT INCLUDE constructing homes on the lots but to sell them as individual building sites.

Subject to an approval by the KHCSA membership to re-designate a piece of property that adjoins current businesses along route 130 as commercial, Harbor Holdings will build a street off Beacon Ridge to serve 3 lots and driveway off Deck House Lane to serve 1 lot. A combination walking/golf cart trail will provide residents access to the boat slips and connect with the existing KHCSA walking trail. Harbor Holdings hopes to sell the re-designated lot to NCNB National Bank of South Carolina and/or South Carolina National Bank and Trust, the owners of the property where the Wine Emporium/Upstate Insurance/1st Choice Realty and Ware Realty are located.

Two of the Harbor Holdings lots will be accessed off Blue Iris Drive, in Craggmore Estates. There will be no street connecting Blue Iris to Keowee Harbours streets; controlled access into Keowee Harbours will continue to be via our front entrance and/or the service road. Access to the lot directly behind the Wine Emporium/Upstate Insurance/1st Choice Realty, Ware Real Estate, and the Subway will be outside the KHCSA service road security gate.

Based on the improvements already made to the property (see the related News item), Harbor Holdings intends to bring the property up to Crescent standards. Walk down our leisure trail and take a look -- I think you will like what you see.

4/29/2008   Harbor Holdings Improvements
I suggest everyone take a walk along the leisure trail to the holding pond and view the improvements that Harbor Holdings is making to the property.

The bridge has been repaired and only needs to be power washed, the gazebo is being repaired, and underbrush and junk saplings are being removed from the hillsides. There are some beautiful homesites overlooking the pond -- I'm reminded of what many Crescent Properties look like!
